Terms & Conditions

Last updated 30 August 2026

These terms cover the use of CeylonPOS, point-of-sale software for shops. They are between the shop subscribing to the service and CeylonPOS, which is currently operated as a trading name rather than a registered company. Questions go to [email protected].

What you get

A private space for your shop — its own database — reachable at a subdomain we set up for you, with the point of sale, the back office and the reports. Setup is done with you, on your hardware.

A subscription runs yearly and includes a set number of sign-ins, tills and printers. Beyond those numbers, each extra is charged. Some features are sold separately as add-ons and are off until bought.

What you pay

Prices are quoted before you are charged, and are the ones shown to you at the time. We will tell you before a renewal falls due.

What happens if a subscription lapses

Your data is not deleted when a subscription expires. The shop stops being usable — signing in is refused and the screens will not open — but the records stay where they are. Renewing restores access to everything.

If you decide not to renew, ask us for an export before you go. We will not delete a shop's database without being asked, but neither will we keep it indefinitely once you have told us you are finished with it.

Your side of it

Our side of it

Things outside our control

CeylonPOS runs on hardware, networks and printers we do not supply, and alongside services — payment terminals, mail providers, the AI features — that belong to other people. We are not responsible for their failures, though we will help you work out what has gone wrong.

The software is provided as it is. We do not promise it is free of faults or that it will suit a particular purpose you have in mind. Nothing here limits liability where the law does not allow it to be limited; otherwise our liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Ending it

You can stop at the end of a subscription year by telling us. We can end the service if payment is not made, or if the service is being used in a way these terms forbid — in which case we will tell you why and give you a reasonable chance to put it right, unless the law requires otherwise.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them, and we will tell shop owners about anything material rather than relying on you to notice. If you do not accept a change, you may end the subscription.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the law of Sri Lanka, and its courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
